Alexander Pavlovsky, Artistic Director
I have always been closely connected with the Zeist Music Days Festival and have participated nearly every year since 1994, initially as a member of the Jerusalem Quartet. Today, as the Festival's Artistic Director, I can honestly say that this is a unique meeting place for renowned musicians and teachers, and for talented young musicians.
During the first week of this summer’s Festival members of the Jerusalem Quartet will coach selected chamber groups. This is part of the quartet's educational project.
I am very glad to welcome three fantastic musicians and dedicated teachers, who will give masterclasses during the second week: Mark Danel, Gilad Karni and Ella Pavlovsky.
Mark Danel is first violinist of the world-famous Danel Quartet. Recently, he was appointed Artistic Leader of the Netherlands String Quartet Academy.
Gilad Karni is currently Principal Violist of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. Since 2008 he has been Professor for Viola at the Conservatoire de Lausanne in Switzerland.
Ella Pavlovsky is a member of the Duo Montefiore. She will coach ensembles with piano during the second week.
Spending two weeks together, playing and listening to each other, visiting Festival concerts and performing during the second week at various venues across the country, all this makes the Festival experience so beneficial and memorable.
